Viewers sat through many amateurish performances.
There was 'voter irregularity,' which (like AmIAnnoying.com) they allowed viewers to stuff the ballots.
Their initials are A.I. like Artificial Intelligence.
Paula Abdul's judging was too nice and full of prewritten comments.
Randy Jackson's judging was too positive and not honest.
Simon Cowell's was too serious and mean spirited.
Hosts Brian Dunkleman and Ryan Seacrest lacked charisma.
Why American Idol might not be annoying
They may have discovered some future stars and uncovered talented vocalists.
The show's popularity grew each week.
Despite all the drawbacks, it can be fun to watch.
