    He used Roxy Music as a springboard for his visual savvy.
    ‘Kiss and Tell’ marked his only appearance in the Billboard Top 40.
    He had a remarkable collection of covers and remakes, most of which featured his signature coolly dramatic spin.
    ‘In Your Mind,’ released in 1977, was his first effort made entirely of his own material.
    His first solo album came in 1973 (‘These Foolish Things’).
