Why he might be annoying:

He spoke in a thick Southern drawl.
He had a role in two controversial court cases.
He listened to President Johnson who told him to 'charge Oswald with plain murder.'
During the trial of Jack Ruby, he ridiculed the ethnic name of his attorney Melvin Belli by repeatedly pronouncing it wrong.
He sent an assistant to take on the 'Roe v. Wade' trial.
His court case against Norma McCorvey started the painful and heated national debate over the legality of abortion.

Why he might not be annoying:

He never lost a case he personally prosecuted.
Norma McCorvey never considered him an enemy and said, 'He was just doing his job.'
He was nicknamed 'the Chief' for his legal prowess.
Though the decision of 'Roe v. Wade' was highly unpopular with Texas voters, he did not lose his District Attorney seat for it.
He died of Parkinson's disease.
