Why he might be annoying:

He was arrested for marijuana possession which was very contrary to his good kid image on TV.
He spent three months in jail and ruined his career.
He claims that his arrest gave the producers of 'Father Knows Best' a lot of leverage in negotiations, and figures he lost $80,000 due to that.
He successfully sued film critic Leonard Maltin, for libel by tagging Billy as a drug pusher.
