He was a pacifist and refused to perform in military service in World War II, causing his family to lose contact with him.
He was supposed to be 'James Bond' in the movie, 'Dr. No,' but Sean Connery was picked instead.
He was divorced from his first wife with two children.
Although he died in 1984 he wasn't buried until November 24, 2000.
