Why he might be annoying
Within ten days of being hired for 'SNL,' he fired four writers and three cast members.
He didn't last long on 'SNL,' due to a writers' strike.
He married Susan Saint James (1981) and filed for divorce (March 12, 2002).
He dropped out of Yale to work as an ABC Sports researcher (1968) at Grenoble Olympic (Winter) Games.
Why he might not be annoying
He is athletic.
A heart attack (1996) caused him suffering.
He put one show on the air in 1975 and was able to put another show on the air in 1981, before a writers' strike shut down production for the remainder of the season on 'SNL.'
He replaced Jean Doumanian on 'SNL.'
He assembled his own group of regulars on 'SNL.'
He has five children and adores time spent with family.
He was ranked #1 of 100 Most Powerful People In Sports by Sporting News Magazine (1996), his prior rankings were 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 70th.
Although once dropping out of Yale, he returned to an undisclosed university and obtained a degree.
He was executive assistant to ABC Sports President, Roone Arledge.
