    Best known for the hit song 'On The Dark Side' and providing the music for the fictional band in the film 'Eddie and the Cruisers'
    Other top-40 hits include 'Tender Years,' 'Tough All Over' and 'C-I-T-Y'

    They were Bruce Springsteen knockoffs.
    They became so associated with the movie that they released many of their later albums under the 'Eddie and the Cruisers' name.
    Although they had a handful of other hits, 'On The Dark Side' is the only one that most people remember.
    They tour on the 'oldies circuit,' doing festivals and corporate events.
    They worked hard and toured relentlessly before hitting it big in the 80's.
    'On The Dark Side' was a top-10 hit and the 'Eddie and the Cruisers' soundtrack went triple-platinum.
    They recorded a Bruce Springsteen tribute album.
    Cotoia died of liver disease at the age of 50 (2004).
    Their song 'Hearts on Fire' was featured in 'Rocky IV.'
