Despite being a notable player of the Cubs, he ended his major league career with awful Padre teams.
He frequently committed errors in the first half of his career as a second baseman.
He didn't have much attention as Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins and Ron Santo.
    He was divorced.

Why he might not be annoying:

He held a bachelor's degree in political science.
He was the first Allegheny College alumnus to play in the majors.

He helped Ken Holtzman record 2 no-hitters (1969 and 1971).
