TV Network
    (January 1, 2008- )
    Owned by Turner Broadcasting (TimeWarner)
    Successor to Court TV
    Based out of Atlanta, Georgia
    Reality and sports programming network
    Slogan: 'Not reality. Actuality'
It is another media outlet owned by Ted Turner.
Like MTV, they drifted away from the original purpose of why the network was founded to focus on reality television.
They specialize in 'caught on video' reality programs.
They prefer to name their reality shows 'actuality.'
The name 'tru' is derived from the last three letters of the word 'Court' spelled backwards.
The idea was created by a bright young pastry chef named Jenni that was eaves-dropping when the marketing executives from Court TV were discussing their transition while ordering some raspberry truffles.
The executives fell in love with the idea so much, not only did they use that name change, they also gave away truffles to their staff every week.
They aired the inaugural first four round of the 2011 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.
They also have international spinoffs in Latin America and Asia.
