Why she might not be annoying:

She was absolutely one of the best (if not the best) post WWII German actresses.
In addition to her acting, she had a career as a cabaret singer and did a lot of voiceover work.
No matter what the role, whether the movie was good or absolute crap, her performance was going to be flawless.
