The Resume

Why East Rutherford, New Jersey might be annoying:

It is an inner-ring suburb of New York City, despite the fact it is across the state line.
It is not well known for anything other than sports.
Their sporting arenas were always addressed as The Meadowlands, rather then the venue's proper name.
To add further insult, sportscasters did everything to avoid saying East Rutherford on air.
The Devils had all three of their Stanley Cup championship parades in the parking lot of Brendan Byrne (later renamed Continental Airlines) Arena, rather then in the streets of the community.
Their inception can be credited to a mass creation of boroughs within Bergen County (1894).

Why East Rutherford, New Jersey might not be annoying:

It's the smallest American municipality ever to host five professional sports franchises, despite a population of fewer than 10,000 residents.
It's a popular place for people who work in New York City to live, as the taxes are somewhat reasonable.
It has picturesque views of both the Passaic and Hackensack rivers.
It is the smallest community in North American professional sports to host a Super Bowl, Stanley Cup Final and an NBA Finals.
The American Dream Shopping Centre, a large mega mall is located here.
