The Resume

    (April 5, 1925-February 20, 2015)
    Born in Ohio
    Obstetrician and anti-abortion activist
President of the National Right to Life Committee (1984-91)
With his wife Barbara, wrote and self-published 'Handbook on Abortion' (1971)

Why he might be annoying:

Since the mid-80s, he promoted the idea that it is difficult for a woman to become pregnant as a result of rape.
After Rep. Todd Akin got in hot water for making similar claims, the doc decided to double down, telling the New York Times, 'This is a traumatic thing—she's, shall we say, she’s uptight. She is frightened, tight, and so on. And sperm, if deposited in her vagina, are less likely to be able to fertilize. The tubes are spastic.'
The mainstream medical opinion was most pithily summed up by Harvard Medical School Professor Michael Greene: 'There are no words for this—it is just nuts.'
He also claimed without any evidence that RU-486, the 'morning after pill,' caused cancer.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and Barbara were married for 64 years until her death.
He and Barbara were foster parents to several teens.
'Handbook on Abortion' has been called the Bible of the right-to-life movement.
