Why she might be annoying
She complained names for hurricanes were too 'lily white' and demanded that the National Hurricane Center 'try to be inclusive of African-American names.'
During a visit to the Jet Propulsion Lab, she asked if the Mars Pathfinder had taken a photo of the flag planted on Mars in 1969 by Neil Armstrong.
In a 2006 poll of Congressional staffers by Washingtonian magazine, she was named 'Biggest Windbag.'
She was banned from Continental Airlines for bullying staff and flight attendants.
She is an imperious boss, with 180% staff turnover during her first term.

She considers Barbara Jordan her role model.
She was one of the few freshmen Democrats elected during the Republican revolution of 1994.
She was arrested in front of the Sudanese embassy while protesting the genocide in Darfur (April 28, 2006).
