    (November 11, 1980-September 1986)
Aired on ABC (1980-83) and in syndication (1984-86)
    Ted Knight as Henry Rush
    Nancy Dussault as Muriel Rush
Deborah Van Valkenburgh as Jackie Rush (1980-85)
Lynda Cornell as Sara Rush (1980-85)
Jm J. Bullock as Monroe Ficus
Audrey Meadows as Iris Martin (1982-86)
A married couple and their two grown daughters live in a San Francisco duplex and find the situation too close for comfort
It had a late start and truncated first season due to an actors' strike.
It unleashed Jm J. Bullock on the world.
Michael Ian Black's description of Monroe: 'They can't just say he's gay. So instead, they make him retarded.'
When Henry and Muriel moved from the duplex to a house in Marin County (1985), Monroe simultaneously moved to remain their next-door neighbor.
For the last season, it was retitled 'The Ted Knight Show.'
It won a People's Choice Award as favorite new comedy series.
With the two daughters, it gave viewers a blonde and a brunette hottie.
Knight wore sweatshirts from several different universities that were sent in by fans.
It was successful enough in syndication that it was slated for another season until Knight was diagnosed with cancer.
