Actress
    (December 30, 1913-December 15, 1960)
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
    Birth name was Vera Gibson-Amado
    Married director Henri-Georges Clouzot (1950-60)
Appeared in the films ‘The Wages of Fear’ (1953), ‘Les Diaboliques’ (1955), and ‘Les Espions’ (1957)
She was introduced to Henri-Georges Clouzot by her first husband, then left him for Clouzot.
She only appeared in films directed by her husband.
The French press played up the fact that she and her character in ‘Les Diaboliques’ both died of heart attacks as an incredible coincidence, even though it is not exactly a rare way to go.
Clouzot named his production company Vera Films after her.
In addition to acting in three of her husband’s films, she served as a continuity assistant on ‘Miquette’ (1950) and a co-writer of ‘La Verite’ (1960).
She did her own stunts in ‘Wages of Fear,’ including being pushed off a moving truck.
