    (October 8, 1927-November 2, 2018)
    Born in Hong Kong
    Birth name was Zhou Wenhuai
Publicity director and production chief for the Shaw Brothers
    Founded Golden Harvest (1970)
Produced ‘The Big Boss’ (1971), ‘The Chinese Connection’ (1972), ‘The Way of the Dragon’ (1972), ‘Enter the Dragon’ (1973), ‘The Young Dragons’ (1974), ‘The Double Crossers (1976), ‘The Game of Death (1978), ‘Death Hunt’ (1981), ‘Zu: Warriors from the Magic Mountain’ (1983), ‘Police Story’ (1985), ‘Shanghai Express’ (1986), ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ (1990), ‘Rumble in the Bronx’ (1995) and ‘Tokyo Raiders’ (2000)
When he set up his own studio, he used inside information to contact actors and directors whose contracts with the Shaw Brothers were nearing their end and tried to persuade them to sign with Golden Harvest.
His attempt to cover up the fact that Bruce Lee had died at the apartment of Betty Ting Pei, his costar and mistress, only served to fuel conspiracy theories about how Lee died.
He completed Lee’s unfinished film ‘The Game of Death’ by hiring two ‘look alikes’ who didn’t actually resemble Lee.
He included footage of Lee’s actual funeral in ‘The Game of Death.’
He was a former journalist who worked for UPI, the New York Times, and the Voice of America.
He made international stars out of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.
He convinced Bruce Lee to sign a contract with him instead of the Shaw Brothers by granting him script approval and control over fight choreography.
He replaced his former bosses, the Shaw Brothers, as Hong Kong’s most successful moviemaker.
