    Wide receiver for the New York Giants (1946)
    Head coach for the Baltimore Colts(1970-1972) and Detroit Lions (1973-1974)
    Attended Ohio State University
    Drafted as the 116th pick in the 13th round of the 1943 NFL Draft
    He only played one year in professional football.
    When he refused to bench quarterback Johnny Unitas, Colts manager Joe Thomas fired him.
    He suffered a heart attack while cutting grass.
    Many of the players he coached considered him very 'easy going.'
    He helped the Colts win Super Bowl V.
    He was less egomaniacal than his predecessor Don Shula.
