Why he might be annoying
Like son Ben, he had a very brief MLB career.
He and several players were involved in a confusing trade between the Rangers, Mets, Braves and the Pirates.
As the Rangers' general manager he traded up future superstar Sammy Sosa to the Chicago White Sox.
He had to watch his son Ben's poor career.
Why he might not be annoying
His best season as a player came in 1976 when he hit .256 and 20 HRs and 81 runs batted in.
As general manager, he acquired Rafael Palmeiro.
He and son Ben were the first father-and-son to be drafted in the first round of the MLB drafts.
