Why he might be annoying:

He won the Best Director Oscar for 'Gone With the Wind' even though he was only one of four directors to work on the film.
He replaced George Cukor on GWTW after Clark Gable complained that Cukor was giving too much attention to the female characters.
He collapsed from nervous exhaustion during filming and was replaced by Sam Wood and William Cameron Menzies.
