Why he might be annoying:

His hair is obviously dyed.
He looks down his nose at mainstream network news.
He is often accused of liberal bias.
He once compared the U.S. forces in Iraq to Hitler.
Both conservatives and liberals accused him of 'pitching softballs' when he moderated the Bush/Kerry debates (2004).
He hobnobs with the Washington political elite in his free time (dinner parties at Al and Tipper’s house, etc.).
Many find his news approach to be dull.
He describes his own interview style as ‘just terrific.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He's a big fan of public transportation.
He was won Emmys and other prizes for his news coverage.
He is a member of the Television Hall of Fame.
He has moderated many presidential candidate debates.
He is known in the news business as ‘the Dean of Moderators.’
He never dumbs down the news.
He’s been called ‘the new Walter Cronkite.’
