    Born in Bowersville, Ohio
    Pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan (1932-84)
    Hosted the radio program 'The Art of Living' (1935-89)
    Founded 'Guideposts' magazine (1945)
    Wrote 46 books, including 'The Power of Positive Thinking' (1952)
    He campaigned against John F. Kennedy, saying 'Faced with the election of a Catholic, our culture is at stake.'
    Almost all the testimonials in 'The Power of Positive Thinking' are anonymous.
    According to positive thinking, if bad things happen to you, it's your damn fault for having negative thoughts.
    Positive thinking inspired Tony Robbins' 'Personal Power' and Rhonda Byrne's 'The Secret.'
    He was married to Ruth Stafford Peale for 63 years until his death.
    Many readers felt that positive thinking improved their lives.
    Bill Clinton said, 'The name of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale will forever be associated with the woundrouosly American values of optimism and service.'
