Why he might be annoying
He played for three different teams in his last three years of his pro career.
He stayed in the closet during his career because he was afraid of treatment he would receive by teammates and opponents.
He said he would go to strip clubs with teammates and would drop off strippers at home and cry afterwards.
He admits he preferred to play with dolls and an Easy-Bake oven then with action figures as a child.
He says he was more interested in doing feminine things as a child.
He was suicidal.
Why he might not be annoying
He became the third former NFL player to announce his homosexuality after his career ended (2002).
He and his lover adopted twins.
He is trying to pave the way for more gay athletes to come out of the closet during their careers.
He overcame poverty to become a succesful athlete.
