The Resume

    A.K.A. Fall
Lasts from fall equinox to winter solstice (September 22 to December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere; March 20 to June 21 in the Southern Hemisphere)
Less formally: September, October and November in the Northern Hemisphere
March, April and May in the Southern Hemisphere

Why Autumn might be annoying:

The days get shorter and the temperatures get colder.
It marks the end of summer vacations and the beginning of the school year.
Leaves change color, die and fall off the trees, forcing you to contemplate mortality. And to rake the little buggers.
Thanks to November elections in the US, it is the peak time for intrusive political ads.

Why Autumn might not be annoying:

It is the main harvest season.
The changing leaves attract tourists to New England and Canada.
In the US, it is the time for baseball's World Series and the start of the college and pro football seasons.
It is the time for two of America's most food-intensive holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving.
