    Books include ‘Hotel LaChapelle,' ‘LaChapelle Land' and ‘Artists and Prostitutes'
    His big break came when pop artist Andy Warhol offered him a photography job at Interview Magazine.
    Many of his photographs feature nudity and sexually explicit themes.
    He photographed advertising campaigns for several fashion and cosmetic companies.
    His name is very similar to that of standup comedian, Dave Chappelle.
    He was arrested for disorderly conduct at the Sundance Film Festival (2005).
    His photographed images are acclaimed as being surreal, colorful, vibrant, imaginative and creative.

    He won the Best Video of the Year MTV Europe Music Video Award for directing Moby's ‘Natural Blues (2000).'
    He attended the New York School of Visual Arts.
    He said: ‘I never wanted to be famous. I always wanted to take famous photographs.'
