Why he might be annoying
He was a lawyer.
He was Bill Clinton's principal public spokesperson and counselor.
He is verbally bashed by conservatives on a daily basis (What can you expect? He's a liberal commentator.).
Even Bill O'Reilly took shots at him.
During Bill Clinton's presidential years, he and James Carville helped several gubernatorial Democratic senators win re-election (including Zell Miller).
Like Hillary Clinton, he believed it was a right-wing conspiracy to impeach Bill Clinton during the Lewinsky affair.
Why he might not be annoying
He attended University of Texas.
He is a research professor for Georgetown University.
He was a contributing editor of John F. Kennedy Jr.'s George magazine.
Like their conservative counterparts on Crossfire, he and James Carville do research before entering a debate.
He is not afraid to speak his mind.
He said about George W. Bush: 'No, actually, I knew Bush in Texas a little bit. And the truth is, he's actually a great guy. He's not a very good president. But he's actually a very good person. I don't think you should have to hate to oppose somebody, but it makes it easier.'
