    Received an additional 10 years for having participated in a series of bombings while a fugitive (1990)
    Died of uterine cancer one month after being released from prison on health grounds
    She called herself an 'anti-imperialist freedom fighter.'
    While serving time for illegally buying ammo with a fake ID, she was allowed out on furlough and became a fugitive (1977).
    She helped BLA member/cop killer Assata Shakur break out of prison (1979).
    She obtained a safe house and weapons and drove the getaway car for the Brinks robbery, in which two policemen and a Brinks guard were killed (1981).
    During the Brinks robbery, she shot herself in the leg.
    She was a member of the 'Armed Resistance Unit' that set off bombs at the US Capitol, three military installations in the Washington DC area and four sites in New York City (1983-85).
    When her minister father desegregated his congregation, crosses were burned on their lawn.
    She was an honor student.
    The Armed Resistance Unit bombings were intended to inflict property damage only: warning phone calls were made and no one was injured.
    She became a published poet, winning several honors from PEN American Center's prison writing program.
