    (August 6, 1937- )
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Birth name was Barbara Ann Deeks
Starred in 10 'Carry On' films (1964-74)
Also appeared in the films 'The Belles of St. Trinian's' (1954), 'Too Hot to Handle' (1960), 'Sparrows Can't Sing' (1963), 'A Study in Terror' (1965), 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' (1968), 'The Boy Friend' (1971), 'Comrades' (1986) and 'The Nearly Complete and Utter History of Everything' (1999)

Her first husband, Ronnie Knight, was a gangster who fled to Spain to avoid bank robbery charges.
She had affairs with gangster Reggie Kray, Bee Gee Maurice Gibb and soccer great George Best.
She had five abortions, three of them before turning 21.
She almost was not cast in the 'Carry On' series because she and star Kenneth Williams took an instant dislike to each other.
She claimed she had trouble getting parts because 'People would think I was as young as I appeared in the Carry Ons. I would go for a part that was my age, but they would have seen Carry On Camping the night before and say I was far too young.'
She was nominated for a Best Actress BAFTA for 'Sparrows Can't Sing' (1963) and won Best Actress at the British Soap Awards (1999).
She said of the Carry On films, 'We did always seem to be doing outside shots in winter, but it paid the mortgage and I loved it.'
Despite her and Williams' initial dislike, they became lifelong friends.
After calling 'EastEnders' co-star Patsy Palmer 'the daughter I never had,' she was asked if she felt the same way about actors Steve McFadden and Ross Kemp. She replied, 'Nah, I don't want them to be my sons, because I fancy them both rotten.'
She was the first recipient of the Rear of Year title (1976).
