Victim
    (circa 1873-February 22, 1933)
    Born in County Donegal, Ireland
    Emigrated to New York City
    Former fireman
Killed by 'the Murder Trust' after they had taken out $3,500 in insurance on him
Murder Trust members were bar owner Tony Marino, Joseph Murphy, Francis Pasqua, Hershey Green and Dan Kreisberg
He was a homeless alcoholic who spent his days cadging drinks at local bars.
He was so thrilled at being extended credit at the bar that he signed without reading some petitions to help Marino get elected to local office. He actually was signing the insurance policies the Trust had taken on him.
He is known solely for being difficult to kill.
The Trust initially gave him unlimited credit at Marino's bar on the theory that he would quickly drink himself to death.
When that did not work fast enough, they switched to serving him antifreeze. Followed by turpentine. Followed by horse liniment with rat poison mixed in.
They then tried serving him rotten oysters marinated in wood alcohol and later a sandwich of spoiled sardines mixed with carpet tacks.
Deciding that nothing Malloy ingested could kill him, they waited until he passed out, then dumped in a snowbank and poured five gallons of water on him on a night when the temperature had dropped to 14 below zero.
The Trust then hired a professional killer, who ran into Malloy with a taxi at 45 miles per hour and then backed over him, just in case.
He showed up at the bar three weeks later, saying that he had been in a nasty accident and was ready for a drink.
The Trust finally killed him by putting a hose in his mouth that was connected a gas jet and turning the gas on until Malloy turned purple.
The killers were uncovered because they argued among themselves and talked too much.
Four of the five Murder Trust members died in the electric chair.
