Why Hell's Angels might be annoying:

Mercenaries and soldiers of fortune favored the oxymoron name of 'Hells Angels.'
They take pride in riding the big and noisy Harley-Davidson motorcycles, nicknamed 'hogs.'
During the late 1940's, motorcylces could be purchased cheaply as military surplus.
Groups of motorcycle hobbyists gathered for weekend get-togethers and formed brotherhoods that partied hard.
Two such groups, 'The Pissed Off Bastards' and 'The Booze Fighters,' gained notoriety as outlaw bikers.
'Bastard' member Otto Friedli broke away from the group and started 'The Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club' in Fontana, Calif (1948).
They gained fame in Marlon Brando's 'The Wild One (1954).'
The original 'Hell's Angels' merged with 'San Francisco's Market Street Commandos' forming a second chapter (1954).
Their insignia is intimidating, it is a winged skull.
During the 60's, group members were accused of violence, rape and destruction in the town of Monterrey. To pay the legal bills to defend against charges of rape, some members began drug trafficking.
Their popularity rose after beating the rape charges and they became an American icon of fighting 'the system.'
The Rolling Stones hired them as security for their Altamont concert. Meredith Hunter, 18, rushed the stage, and was beaten back, so he shot a Hell's Angel in the arm and in return was stabbed to death. A Hell's Angel member was acquitted at trial for this incident (December 6, 1969).
The US government has charged them with racketeering and corruption, ending in mistrials.

Why Hell's Angels might not be annoying:

They ride cool, American made hoggs.
Many of the original members were part of the elite paratrooping U.S. Army's 11th Airborne Division.
They legally sell 'Hells Angels' merchandise from hats to Zippo lighters.
They donate toys to children's charities.
