U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (August 31, 1976- )
    Born in Sturgis, Michigan
Served in the Indiana House of Representatives (2002-08) and Senate (2009-10)
Won a special election to the House of Representatives to fill the vacancy created when Congressman Mark Souder resigned (November 2, 2010)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

He ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for US Senate (2010).
He was reportedly responsible for leaking rumors about Souder having an extramarital affair to the press.
He complains about federal spending on food stamps and other assistance programs while pocketing over $900,000 a year in farm subsidies.
He inadvertently summed up the inanity of the October 2013 government shutdown with the statement, 'We have to get something out of this. And I don’t know what that even is.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He has gone on short-term Baptist missions to Russia, Haiti, Mexico and Guatemala.
He was named 'Small Business Champion of the Year' by the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce (2008).
Souder was having an extramarital affair, so it ain't like he was making false accusations.
