Birth name was Meyer Harris Cohen
    Former pro boxer
Enforcer for Al Capone's Chicago Outfit

He was first arrested at age nine, for delivering bootleg liquor to his brother's speakeasy.

After his bodyguard, Johnny Stompanato, was fatally stabbed by Lana Turner's daughter, Cheryl Crane, he sold Turner's love letters to Stompanato to the press.

Asked by interviewer Mike Wallace about his Mafia hits, he replied 'I killed nobody that didn't deserve killing.'
He survived multiple attempts by rival gangster Jack Dragna to have him rubbed out.
His OCD saved his life, since he was bent over the sink washing up when a hitman sprayed his office with bullets.
When a senator at the Kefauver hearings asked, 'Is it not a fact that you live extravagantly, surrounded by violence,' he replied, 'Whaddya mean, 'surrounded by violence'? People are shooting at me!'
While in the federal prison at Atlanta, another prisoner attacked him with a lead pipe, leaving him in a wheelchair.
He was portrayed by Harvey Keitel in 'Bugsy' and Paul Guilfoyle in 'L.A. Confidential.'
