    Played for German national football team 1987-1998 (West Germany 1987-1990)
    Coached German National Football Team (2004-1006), Bayern Munich (2008-2009) and US National soccer team (2011- )
    He's most infamous as a player for 'diving.'
    He would popularize diving after the 1990 World Cup.
    His 1995 marriage to a Chinese-American raised some eyebrows back home in Germany.
    He was unsuccessful in coaching Germany to win the 2006 World Cup as host nation, finishing 3rd.
    He was dropped as coach of Bayern Munich because of a difference of opinion with the club's board of directors despite their successful record that year.
    He's even made a few crackpot decisions as US coach such as dropping Landon Donovan from the 2014 World Cup lineup.
    He has had an illustrious career which includes winning the World Cup (1990), UEFA Cup (1991) and the European Championship (1996).
    He scored eleven goals in World Cup play.
    He helped rebuild Germany's team for the 2006 World Cup after the embarrassment of losing out of the group stage of Euro 2004.
    He coached the USA to the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
    He went from scoring a goal against the USA at the 1998 World Cup to coaching the US team in 2014.
    He coached the 2014 US team to a performance of increasing respect amongst the football world.
