    It is named after engineer/industrialist George Pullman even though he never settled here.
    A lot of wooden buildings were burned down by a fire (July 3, 1890).
    The university has been called 'Wazzu' for short.
    The university's old outdoor stadium, Rogers Field, suffered a lot of fire damage (April 4, 1970).
    It doesn't have as much attractions as its neighboring city of Moscow, Idaho in the Palouse region.
    The weather gets really cold here in December and January.
    It hosts the National Lentil Festival every August since 1989.
    Scheweitzer Engineering Laboratories is founded and headquartered here.
    John Elway used to live here for a while as a teenager.
    It is surrounded by beautiful scenery of the Palouse region.
    It was named the 'Best Place to Raise Kids' in the state of Washington by Bloomberg Businessweek (2011).
    Washington State University is Washington's second oldest university behind the University of Washington.
