    Before politics, he was known for his brilliant analysis of baseball stats.
    He is known for developing PECOTA (Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorith), a sabermetric system for forecasting Major League Baseball player performance.
    He correctly predicted the voting results for 49 out of 50 states in the electoral college during the historic 2008 US Presidential election.
    TIME magazine named him as on of the 100 Most Influential People in the World (2009).
    He once was featured as a guest analyst on ESPN's Baseball Tonight.
