Why he might be annoying:

    He dropped out of school when he was 14.
    He had trouble controlling his temper.
    His nickname 'Ace' was a play on the character, made famous by Jim Carrey.
    He was notorious for throwing erratic pitches.
    His death was easily avoidable, as he was heavily intoxicated and wasn't wearing his seat belt when he got behind the wheel.
    His death happened on the same day as his countryman and teammate Andy Marte.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a power pitcher by baseball pundits.
    He worked as a construction worker, prior to attending a baseball academy hosted by the Royals.
    He threw seven shutout innings and helped the Royals force the World Series to Game 7 (2014).
    He dedicated his performance in that game to fellow countryman and major leaguer Oscar Taveras, who was killed in an auto accident days earlier.
    He was a member of the Royals team that won their first World Series title in 30 years (2015).
