Why he might be annoying:

He has never been married, but has three kids.
One of his trademarks is entering the stage with sunglasses and a cigarette before he performs.
He owned a poodle. (Now that's very heavy metal?)
He admitted in an interview that he suffers with depression and bipolar mood swings, that one minute he's up writing a rock song, and then one minute he's severely down.
He left Dokken on numerous occasions at the height of their career.
And one of the reasons for leaving the band was because he and George Lynch did not get along and both have had a few confrontations with each other.
He admitted that the other Dokken members did cocaine, that he never tried it, but another article states that all members did cocaine and alcohol, including him?
    He has piercings.
The band is named after his last name.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has a very powerful singing voice, which can also be described as very emotive with feeling.
On September 22, 2010, in an interview with BraveWords.com, he revealed that he undergone vocal surgery, to correct problems with nodes and tears in his vocal cords, and also underwent cancer at the same time as well.
    He is of Norwegian ancestry.
His father Tyler Dokken is also an actor.
He released his very first solo album 'Up from the Ashes' in 1990, which was a major success.
In 2006, he was placed at number 70 in Hit Parader's 'Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists of All Time.'
He lent his voice to Scorpions's 1982 'Blackout' album as backing vocals at that same time Scorpions lead singer Klaus Meine was undergoing vocal surgery. (Now that is what you call a friend helping another friend out).
He also lent his voice to 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors' soundtrack in 1987 along with Dokken's song 'Dream Warriors', and also made a special cameo appearance in the movie as well, right along with his other Dokken band members.
According to Metallian.com he also underwent surgery to stop his body atrophying. (It sounds like he has been through a lot?)
