    She failed to meet huge expectations at the 2000 Summer Olympics when she did not accomplish her goal of winning five gold medals.
    During the 2000 Summer Olympics, it was revealed that her then-husband, C.J. Hunter, tested positive for steroids, which greatly overshadowed her efforts.
    She eventually divorced Hunter.
    She has a teardrop tattoo on her left shoulder, which she got during a low point in her life.
    She appeared in ads for Nike, AT&T and Milk.
    After lying and denying use of steroid for years, she pled guilty to using steroids (October 5, 2007).
    Despite not winning five gold medals, she still won more medals than any other female track and field athlete in Olympic history.
    In addition to being an accomplished track and field athlete, she was also an accomplished basketball player, as she led the University of North Carolina to the 1994 national championship.
    Her father abandoned her when she was two years old.
    Her stepfather died when she was eleven years old, which left her with no father figure.
    She is known for having a great personality.
    She ranked #2 in ESPN's World's Sexiest Female Athletes (2002).
    She posed for Maxim (August 2004).
    She said 'I'm proud of my body, but if something happens to my looks, my career won't be over.'
