    He was arrested for alleged assault in Whistler, British Columbia (February 26, 2010).
    He had to live in foster homes before settling with his maternal grandmother as his parents were evicted.
    He played football and competed in track and field in high school.
    He was also a decathlete in college.
    He graduated Weber State with a degree in marketing.
    He won a medal at the Winter Olympics held in his hometown (2002).
    In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, mountain biking and spending time with his family.
