    He credited his majoring in drama to a professor who ‘took advantage of my natural show-offness.’
    He said of his first role, in a medical soap opera, ‘I had three lines, ‘Yes,’ ‘No’ and ‘How’s his pulse?’ I blew the last two.’
    He was the star of a long-running ad campaign for TWA.
    He only got his best-remembered role, Spock’s half-brother Sybok, because the producers’ first choice, Sean Connery, was committed to filming ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.’
