The Resume

    (July 10, 1988- )
    Born in Miami, Florida
Wide receiver for The Pittsburgh Steelers
    Attended Central Michigan University (2007-2010)
Drafted 195th overall by the Steelers in the 6th round of the overall NFL Draft (Jul. 2010)
Competed on Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars, paired with dancer Sharna Burgess (Spring 2016)
Drew heavy criticism for broadcasting the Steelers' locker room celebration on Facebook Live, violating NFL conduct rules (Jan. 18, 2017)

Why he might be annoying:

He gifted his 9-year-old son with a Rolex.
He posed nude for ESPN the Magazine's 'Body Issue.'
He has been called overly-enamored with his own celebrity.
He was expelled from Florida International University to due 'an issue with security.'
He opted to forego his Senior year in college and go straight for the NFL draft.
His post-touchdown antics have earned him hefty fines from the NFL (e.g. hugging the goalpost affectionately after a win over the Indianapolis Colts).
He was accused of faking an injury after taking a hit from Vontaze Burfict during a Steelers-Bengals playoff game (Jan. 2016).
He made the incredibly poor decision to live stream his coach’s post-game team speech after their win over the Kansas City Chiefs (aside from the added grief he caused his teammates in prepping for the AFC Championship, how much sense does it take to figure that livestreaming inside a locker room isn't the brightest idea?)
The blowback was substantial enough for even Coach Tomlin to blast his actions for being 'selfish' and 'inconsiderate' (ironically the live stream picked up what appeared to be Ben Roethlisberger advising his teammates to 'keep a low profile' and 'stay off of social media').

Why he might not be annoying:

He's involved with several local charities in-and-around both Pittsburg and his home city, Miami.
He's workout buddies with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Denver Broncos cornerback Kayvon Webster (they went to high school together).
He had major conflicts with his stepfather as a high schooler, often staying at the houses of friends to avoid him (and even his football coach's at one point).
His mantra is 'Chest up. Eyes up. Prayed up.'
A video of his doing a full-on 'front-flip' after making a 56-yard touchdown catch went viral on YouTube (Nov. 15, 2015).
He made it to the semifinals during his 'Dancing with the Stars' run with Burgess, finishing fourth overall.
He won NFL.com's Fantasy Player of the Year at the 2016 NFL Honors.
He issued a public apology for the live streaming, saying: 'I let my emotions and genuine excitement get the best of me, and I wanted to share that moment with our fans.'
The coverage of the Facebook livestream was slightly overblown (especially considering that many fans incorrectly believed that it was Brown - not Coach Tomlin - who had been caught calling the Patriots 'assholes').
The 'livestream' fallout came just on the heels of Odell Beckham Jr. being criticized as a party animal after his loss to the Giants, exposing a certain condescension with which New England-based media approached black football players (e.g. 'who raised them?).
His reasoning for selecting the jersey number 84, as follows: 'Eight times four is 32. Thirty-two teams looked past me [in the draft], even the Steelers. So every time I go out there it’s a little added motivation.'
