The Resume

    (December 17, 1983- )
    Born in London, Ontario, Canada
Birth name is Gregory James Campbell
    Centre for the Boston Bruins
Drafted 67th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Was traded to the Boston Bruins in 2010
Won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011

Why he might be annoying:

His fans' nickname for him is shared with fellow NHLer, Brian Campbell - 'Soupy.'
He is son of NHL power broker, Colin Campbell, leading to accusations of nepotism in some quarters.
He scored his first goal three years after his draft, and in a losing game (he also failed to register a point in his first two NHL games).
His shot total, per season, was called 'anemic' by hockey pundits.
He has been criticized by hockey pundits as having a boat-anchor effect with his teammates, bringing down the stats of the other players he takes to the ice with.
He is a lousy scrapper who has been known to lose a majority of the fights he starts on the ice.
His last-minute penalty-kill on a broken leg inspired a Twitter hashtag, #IamGregCampbell, most of them jokingly comparing their own minor experiences of pain to his (some of them in all seriousness).

Why he might not be annoying:

He led the Kitchener Rangers to the 2003 MasterCard Memorial Cup with 15 goals and 23 points.
He set a career high in penalty minutes (93) and tied a career high in goals (13) in the 2010-2011 season.
He takes the heat every time his father takes a controversial stance.
He played a critical part of the Bruins’ Stanley Cup win by limiting the Canucks to just two power-play goals in seven games, with his penalty kill (2011).
He received universal praise during the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins, when he stayed on the ice for a full minute with a broken fibula after a penalty kill (Jun. 2013).
He purchased $2,000 worth of Mike's Pastry Pies and donated them to charities throughout the Boston area during Thanksgiving.
He became one of the first known celebrities to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge when he was challenged by a friend of its creator, Pete Frates (Aug. 2014).
He was named one of the Most Stylish Bostonians by the Boston Globe (2014).
