    Born in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation
    Composed three symphonies, two string quartets and the opera 'Prince Igor'
    Songs adapted for the Broadway musical 'Kismet' (1953)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was the illegitimate son of a nobleman and was registered as the son of one the noble's serfs.
    Although remembered as a composer, he made his living as a chemist.
    He described himself as a 'Sunday composer.'
    He began the opera 'Prince Igor' in 1869 and had not finished it when he died 18 years later.
    He died of a sudden heart attack while dancing at a ball.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is one of a few people to have been successful in both science and the arts.
    He learned German, French, English and Italian in addition to his native Russian.
    He was an early feminist who founded the School of Medicine for Women in St. Petersburg.
    His music was popularized outside of Russia by Franz Liszt and influenced Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.
