Appeared in the miniseries 'The Martian Chronicles' (1979), 'Sadat' (1983), 'Winds of War' (1983), 'War and Remembrance' (1988) and 'Icon' (2005)
Wrote the autobiography 'Remember with Advantages' (2007)
Became a Canadian citizen (1953)

Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school to become an errand boy.
When he left 'Space: 1999', he told the producer, 'If it's all the same to you, I'd just as soon like to go and play with the grown-ups for a while.'
As Lt. Gerard, he was called 'the most hated man in America' and noted, 'I grew very used to having elderly ladies thrash me with their handbags and say 'You mean rotten man! Why don't you leave that nice doctor alone?'
He turned down an offer to make a cameo appearance in the film version of 'The Fugitive.'

Why he might not be annoying:

At 15, he won a scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
He is one of the few actors to have appeared in every play by both Shakespeare and Shaw.
He was a five-time winner of the Liberty Award as Canada's best television actor.
He raised money for Parkinson's disease treatment and research after his wife of 60 years battled the disease.
