Why he might be annoying
He was heavily tattooed.
He performed shirtless at an age when he probably shouldn't.
He played at Woodstock but was left out of the movie and off the album due to a contract dispute.
He was addicted to heroin.
As a result most of his backing band, including Rick Derringer and Bobby Caldwell, left and joined his brother's band.
Why he might not be annoying
Derringer wrote the song 'Still Alive and Well' for him after he beat his heroin addiction.
He appeared on the cover of the first issue of 'Guitar World.'
He fulfilled a childhood dream of playing with Muddy Waters, producing Waters' Grammy-winning albums 'Hard Again' (1977) and 'I'm Ready' (1978).
