Operettas include: 'The Bat (1874)' and 'The Gypsy Baron (1885)'

Why he might be annoying:

His father, violinist Johann Strauss, desired he go into banking and strongly was against him pursuing a musical career.
He cheat on his first wife, Henriette, in the last five years of their marriage.
He married, Lili, seven weeks after his first wife, died, and was thirty years older than her. She constantly cheated on him and left him for a director (1882).

Why he might not be annoying:

He secretly studied violin and at six attempted writing a waltz.
At nineteen he performed his first concert in Hietzing, Austria. He answered the audience demand of 19 encores, including playing one of his father's waltzes (October 15, 1844).
His first wife died suddenly of a heart attack. He was distraught and was unable to attend her funeral (April 8, 1878).
He composed the most popular waltz ('Blue Danube').
