    (October 5, 1957- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
    Criminal defense attorney
Clients included Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder, Scott Peterson, singer Chris Brown, Whitewater figure Susan McDougal and Congressman Gary Condit
During law school, he frequently missed classes because he was organizing rock concerts.
He has a reputation among fellow lawyers for floating far-fetched defense theories.
While simultaneously handling the Michael Jackson molestation case and the Scott Peterson murder trial, he was rebuked for his 'crushingly busy calendar' by the judge in an embezzlement case that he was also trying.
Jackson eventually replaced him, complaining that he did not have the 'full attention' of Geragos.
He said about Scott Peterson, 'I have a real problem with convicting this guy in the media.'
An example of Peterson being tried by the media: Before becoming his lawyer, Geragos appeared as a legal expert on Fox and told Greta van Sustern that the evidence against Peterson was 'damning.'
He formed the firm of Geragos and Geragos with his father and brother and said that his father is 'the greatest lawyer I have ever known.'
He was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Los Angeles Criminal Courts Bar Association (1999).
Nancy Grace said, 'If I were charged with double murder, I would definitely call Mark Geragos. 'What Geragos has is a certain affability that persuades the jurors. That is what sets him apart from many other lawyers.'
He proved to be spot on with his legal analysis of the Peterson case.
