Played for the British Columbia Lions (1966) and the Toronto Argonauts (1967-73)
CFL Most Outstanding Player Award winner (1968)

Why he might be annoying:

He blew out his knee while riding an exercise bike, which essentially ended his NFL career.
His injury led to Vince Lombardi cutting him from the Packers.
He was deemed expendable by the Lions after one season.
He faced a slew of criticism from Argos fans, who felt he should have carried the ball in the crucial moments of the 1971 Grey Cup game.
He signed a contract agreement with the Denver Broncos, only to relent at the last minute.

He was the first member of the Argonauts to earn the Most Outstanding Player Award.
He was the first Argonaut to rush for over 1,000 yards.
He excelled as a blocking running back.
He opted to reside within the Greater Toronto area in the years following his retirement from active play, and worked as a sales representative in the forestry industry.
He remained extremely humble and grateful for the opportunity to play football and had no regrets about the way his career turned out.
