Why she might be annoying:

She alternated spelling her name with and without the 'h' (Theresa/Teresa).
She started her show biz career as a singer with the long forgotten Doodletown Pipers.
After she left 'Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In' she guested 3 times in 1971.
She played a character in the short lived TV series 'The Funny Side (September-December 1971)' called 'minority wife.'
Because she refused to screen kiss anyone on 'Get Christie Love,' romantic interests were not written for her.
She became a Jehovah's Witness and abandoned her career.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was the first African-American woman to portray a title cop character in a TV show.
She died in a house fire at age 54 (October 10, 2002).
When her neighbors were interviewed after the fire none of them were aware she was a former actress.
