The Resume

    (March 10, 1925-August 21, 1988)
    Born in Los Angeles, California
    Director, producer, and screenwriter
Produced and directed 'Man Beast' (1956), 'Teenage Zombies' (1960), 'Terror of the Bloodhunters' (1962), 'Attack of the Mayan Mummy' (1963), 'Face of the Screaming Werewolf' (1965), 'Creature of the Walking Dead' (1965), 'The Wild World of Batwoman' (1966), and 'Frankenstein Island' (1981)

Why he might be annoying:

He made heavy use of stock footage.
He was known for 'cut and paste' films: foreign films that he bought the rights to, then cut out large hunks of the original and inserted new scenes with American actors.
He wrote the script for 'Teenage Zombies' in less than a week while on his honeymoon.
A critic wrote that he 'specialized in movies made with few dollars and less sense.'
He admitted, 'I never, ever tried in any way to make something worthwhile. I only did enough to get by, so they would buy it, so it would play, and so I would get a few dollars.'
He was inspired by a Hollywood producer remarking, 'In this town, producers are the ones who have it all.'
Surprisingly, he won the copyright infringement suit DC Comics filed over 'The Wild World of Batwoman.'
'The Wild World of Batwoman' was campy enough to earn a cult following even before it was featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
He was one of the many directors of werewolf movies to serve as the namesake for a character in Joe Dante's 'The Howling.' (1981)
