    Leader of the political parties Sinn Fein (1917-26) and Fianna Fail (1926-59)
    Prime Minister (1937-48,1951-54,1957-59) and President (1959-73) of Ireland

Why he might be annoying:

    One biographer claimed he suffered a nervous breakdown during the Easter Rising and was almost shot by his own men when he forgot a password.
    He started a trade war with Britain that had disastrous effects on the Irish economy.
    He personally called on the German ambassador to express condolences on Hitler's death.

Why he might not be annoying:

    His father died when he was two.
    He played rugby in college and was a lifelong devotee.
    His marriage to Sinead Flanagan lasted until her death the day before their 65th anniversary.
